grew up in a kosher butcher shop cooking matzoh ball soup and knishes with her mother. After Art School in San Francisco, she worked at restaurants and Pauline’s Pizza Farm in San Francisco. She came to New York to attend the Natural Gourmet cooking school. She cooked at Al Di La, Diner, and on a historic tall ship called the Lettie G. Howard. Erika lives in Williamsburg, down the street from Pies ‘n’ Thighs, with her husband and daughter.
is a baker, lover of all things sweet and fried, know it all, and partner at Pies ‘n’ Thighs. She studied pastry and the art of eating everything in sight at the French Culinary Institute in 2004. She has baked at Magnolia Bakery, the Biltmore Room, Diner, Marlow & Sons, and Momofuku Milk Bar. Sarah lives in Chinatown with her husband and son.
is co-owner, chef, and chief problem solver/cornbread-eater at Pies ‘n’ Thighs. Originally from Boston, she discovered a deep affinity for barbecue, slow cooked beans, and all things fried – the seeds of her love for Southern food. She has cooked at Diner, Marlow & Sons, The Spotted Pig, and Roberta’s. Carolyn loves eating spicy Asian and Mexican food with her husband, Dan Ross-Leutwyler.
